Stuck
Identity has always been a topic in my art. Specifically, these pieces are about the identity of my work and the places and scenes where I grew up. San Francisco has always been a place I regularly visit. The pieces are a representation of my life until this point and a symbol of what my life is going to look like in Brooklyn, NY. Many abstract faces represent the unique world everyone lives in and depict ideas of identity within a declining city such as San Francisco. The large face includes a map as the base, connecting it to past projects such as Alleyway Anthems and Mapping it Out. The series also consists of a photo from the original installation of the project.
Original Installation
A large mystical face and the blue and gold abstracted figures. All there to represent identity within the dwindling city of San Francisco. The installation moves to a vision of the city in a perfect state to show off its everlasting beauty. Which then turns into abstract scenes inspired by the city and chaos on the right. This represents the chaos and unbalanced truth that politics brings to a city.
